Natalie Rawlings, Marketing Manager at Renault Trucks UK & Ireland, explains: “My Manager, Alex and I visited a Natural Green open day, and that’s really where it all started,” she recalls.
Sustainable Event Design With Renault Trucks
“Our sustainability journey was just beginning, and we wanted to find a partner who shared those values.”
That first visit to Natural Green sparked the idea for a new type of exhibition unit - one that would replace Renault Trucks traditional trailer-style hospitality spaces.
“We’d used the classic truck trailer setups for years but felt we needed to explore a different way to approach our shows,” Natalie explains. “They ended up feeling like staff rooms rather than engaging spaces for customer interaction. We wanted something open, inclusive and reflective of our brand personality.”

Designing a Standout Event Unit
The result was a striking two-storey hospitality and brand experience unit constructed from repurposed shipping containers: the first of its kind built by Natural Green.
“We were effectively the guinea pigs for the design,” Natalie laughs. “It was a joint project from the start. We loved being part of the process and seeing how the team brought every idea to life.”
The finished structure is an impressive six metres high, combining industrial edge with modern elegance. Two stacked containers form the upper and lower decks, with sides that fold down to extend the floorspace and invite visitors in from every angle.
On the ground floor, guests enter through clear glass bifold doors that create a bright, open conservatory-style space. Inside, there’s a bespoke kitchenette, integrated fridge, and coffee bar, alongside comfortable seating, digital screen-, and a sound system for videos or background music.
Upstairs, a second level provides a relaxed meeting area with additional seating, often used for customer discussions or dealer entertainment.
“One of our dealers even turned it into a jazz lounge with a live DJ at one event,” Natalie says. “It’s versatile and easy to reconfigure for any type of event.”
The design is unmistakably Renault Trucks: matte black exterior, red stair railings, and bold red feature walling behind the main seating area.
“Our brand colours are black, white and red, and the team made sure every detail reflected that,” she says. “Even the smallest touches like the red railings and the lighting make it feel premium and professional.”
Built for the Real World
Natural Green’s design team knew the British weather could challenge any outdoor installation, so flexibility was key. The first iteration featured open canopies, but following early shows, the structure was adapted with weatherproof side panels and removable transparent walls that can zip up or roll down depending on conditions.
“The front now works like a luxury gazebo,” Natalie explains. “It’s smart, transparent, and practical even when it’s windy or raining, visitors can still see inside and feel welcome.”
Under the stairs, clever built-in cupboards provide hidden storage for merchandise and catering equipment, maximising the unit’s usability for both large-scale exhibitions and dealer-run events.
Events and Audiences
The hospitality unit has been used by Renault Trucks at major UK events, including:
Road Transport Expo (RTX), Stoneleigh Park – their flagship annual show
RWM (Recycling & Waste Management) at the NEC – focusing on sustainability and municipal clients
Hillhead Quarry Exhibition – for the construction and heavy-duty vehicle market
Convoy in the Park at Donington and multiple Truckfests nationwide
The unit’s size and height make it a natural centrepiece. “It’s visible from right across the showground,” Natalie says. “We’ve even had other exhibitors come over asking who built it as it really stands out.”
Natural Green provides a full turnkey service - storing, transporting, installing, and de-rigging the structure for every show. “They do everything,” Natalie says. “We literally just turn up and focus on the event. They make it all effortless.”
The Human Touch
For Natalie, one of the biggest reasons for the partnership’s success is the people behind it.
“They’re passionate, knowledgeable, and nothing is ever too much trouble,” she says. “They’ve transformed the way we do events. We start with the Natural Green unit and build everything else around it.”
When asked to describe the team in three words, Natalie doesn’t hesitate: “Passionate, sustainable, and like family; that’s exactly how they make you feel.”
From Charlie Cox’s creative problem-solving to Jane Warmington’s help with stand layouts, the relationship is both professional and personal. “They’re like an extension of our event team,” Natalie adds. “They care as much about the result as we do.”
Sustainability in Every Detail
“The reuse and repurpose element was central to the brief,” Natalie says. “Natural Green source sustainable materials and work with suppliers who share that ethos. That alignment was a big part of why we chose them.”
Beyond the container structure itself, Natural Green provides plant schemes tailored to each event. These not only soften the industrial look of the containers but also reinforce Renault Trucks sustainability message.
Looking Ahead: Expanding the Collaboration
With Natural Green continuing to expand its design and product range including new Z Benches with integrated digital screens and modular outdoor display structures, Renault Trucks is already exploring fresh ideas for future events.
“We’re definitely looking at how we can integrate some of the new products,” Natalie says. “Their range keeps evolving, and so do our ambitions for how we engage customers. We’ll absolutely be doing more together.”
The Verdict
For Renault Trucks, the partnership with Natural Green Creative Spaces has been transformative.
“They’ve helped us completely change the way we approach events,” Natalie concludes. “From concept to build, logistics to planting - they deliver every time. And above all, they’re just a genuinely lovely team to work with. You always know you’re in good hands.”
