Depot charging demand drives CES debut at Road Transport Expo

Renewables engineering specialist CES is exhibiting at the Road Transport Expo (RTX) for the first time, as demand for depot charging infrastructure from fleet operators accelerates.

Depot charging demand drives CES debut at Road Transport Expo
The government's Depot Charging Scheme (DCS), which closes to applications at the end of the month, is offering up to £170 million in support for eligible businesses installing fleet charging infrastructure, covering up to 70 per cent of installation costs.

And the Midlands-based company says that combined with the Zero Emissions Truck and Van grants, there has never been a stronger financial case for businesses to begin the transition

Joe Collison, managing director of CES, said: "RTX feels like the natural next step for us. We have been seeing genuine and growing demand from fleet operators and logistics businesses who need support with the full electrification journey, not just the chargers themselves.

"The funding available right now is a real opportunity for businesses to get ahead, but only if the infrastructure behind it is right. Our Powered by CES process manages everything in-house, from initial site survey and grid capacity assessment through to DNO engagement, installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance.

"We integrate smart load management, battery energy storage and solar PV into every installation, building systems that are scalable and compliant from day one.

"The funding landscape for fleet electrification has been strong and even with the DCS closing to applications, we expect further support to come.”

CES delivers end-to-end commercial EV charging solutions for fleet depots, logistics operations and manufacturing sites. The company's infrastructure-led approach ensures installations are built to grow with a business, whether that means a single depot today or a national network in the future.

CES will be at stand G58A at the Road Transport Expo, NAEC Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, June 30 to July 2 2026.
