Des Conway Retires after 17 Years

Here are a few words from Des:

“On 31st December 2025, I retired from Brian Currie (Milton Keynes) Ltd having competed just over 17 years at the Company. I started in 2008 as Financial Director, in what was a big departure for me having spent much of my working life in US Multinationals. When I started, some might remember there was a financial crisis causing chaos throughout the world, so it really was a baptism of fire for the first few years. However, what I soon discovered was there were some great people and a great resilience in the Company.

For me the highlight was taking over as Joint Manging Director with Tom Osborne in 2018. During the period since, we battled Covid, won many manufacturer awards, grew the business by acquiring new sites, businesses and now have over 200 employees. We have a great management team and great employees who take whatever challenge or obstacle is put in their way as an opportunity. I will miss the day to day camaraderie and the friendship of so many. Equally, I will miss the many colleagues in the DAF dealer network and DAF who have helped me on my journey. However, I am now looking forward to enjoying walks, bike riding and improving my Golf....Oh and the long list of Jobs around the house that I managed to put off as I was too busy at work.

I wish Tom and the Team every success for the future and thank Brian and the family for putting their trust in me. I couldn't have dreamt all those years ago that I would finish on such a high.

It is not Goodbye as I am sure and hope our paths will cross again, as I help out in the background. Thanks once again and I wish one and all a great 2026.”
